Monroe Clinic wins ANCC pathways award

MONROE - Monroe Clinic is the fourth organization in Wisconsin and the first in Illinois to achieve Pathways to Excellence Designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. ANCC reserves the designation for organizations demonstrating a positive environment where nurses can excel in their practices.

To qualify for the award, Monroe Clinic needed to demonstrate 12 practice standards supporting an ideal nursing practice environment. After accepting Monroe Clinic's application in the spring, the ANCC surveyed Monroe Clinic nurses to validate the organization's implementation of the 12 practice standards.

Monroe Clinic launched the Pathways to Excellence initiative in 2012. The application process identified standards and opportunities for improvement. Monroe Clinic, like all award recipient organizations, must reapply and re-survey nurses every three years to maintain Pathways to Excellence status.
