MONROE - Monroe Clinic will showcase student art during their winter art exhibit in collaboration with the Monroe Arts Center and the Monroe school district.
The exhibit opened on Dec. 18 and will continue through March 13. The Art Gallery Reception will be 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, with a gallery talk at 5:30 p.m.
Kindergarten through grade 12 participated. While they all worked under a unifying "Flower" theme, each art teacher chose the particular techniques and medium for their students' work.
At Abraham Lincoln Accelerated Learning Academy, participants worked under teacher Julia Genrich. They include Savannah Graves, kindergarten; Devon Bornemeier, first grade; Brinley Roidt, second grade; Courtney Hartwig, third grade; Mallory Schmeizer, fourth grade; and Lydia Butler, fifth grade.
Teacher Briana Cleary led the participants from Northside Elementary. They include Grant Ula, kindergarten; Eli Schaeffer, first; Rachel Mauer, second; Perla Krebs, third; Danika Walker, fourth; and Anikah Rath, fifth.
Under teacher Sarah Witke, Parkside Elementary students whose work is being exhibited include Willow Stroede, kindergarten; Jackson Trupke, first; Oliver Krieger, second; Chyler Blackbourn, third; Skye Thomm, fourth; and Sloane Ambrose, fifth.
From St. Victor School, teacher Nikki Cooper directed participants, including Phillip Schuppner, kindergarten; Brinlee Chapman, first; Gracie Hertzke, second; Kaylee Meier, third; Emery Smith, fourth; and Breanna Butler, fifth.
Participants from Monroe Middle School worked under teacher Michele Mars. They include Kollin Zahradka, Jeanette Ackerman and Zoee Pond, all in sixth grade; Adam Edens, Grace Saunders and Hava Rushiti, seventh grade; and Mina Krieger, Issi Zweifel and Issy Peck, eighth grade.
Under teachers Jan Douglas, Kathy King and Marilyn Rolfsmeyer, exhibitors from the Monroe High School include Kirsten Rood, ninth grade; Elizabeth Skattrud, 10th grade; Natalie Dillon, 11th grade; and Ramsey Benkert, Hwain Ryu and Emily Frankowski, all in 12th grade.
The exhibition is one of Monroe Clinic Gallery's rotating gallery exhibits, which change quarterly, through a partnership with Monroe Clinic and MAC. With a focus on "The Art of Healing," the galleries are intended to provide therapeutic and aesthetically pleasing artwork for patients and visitors, as well as bring local artists and community together.
