MONROE - In a meeting Monday, The City of Monroe Board of Public Works:
Approved bills from Whitney Tree Service for $4,770 for tree removal and trimming; Fehr-Graham and Associates for $2,990 for consulting services on 8th and 9th Street water; Veolia Environmental Services for $900 for January recycling.
Reviewed quotes and authorized purchases for 2011 construction materials.
Reviewed a consulting contract agreement with AECOM Technical Services, Inc. for WWTP facilities planning. Acceptance was held pending a tour of another wastewater treatment plant for board members. Board members toured Janesville's plant last week.
Discussed and approved sending a letter proposed by DNR regarding recycling grants to be sent by city to the governor. The letter requests time for the municipality to find alternatives for replacing the expected $110,000 loss in recycling grant funds from the state. The loss of grants money will affect the 2012 city budget.
Neal Hunter was absent.
