MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the City of Monroe Common Council set public hearing dates for the following ordinances and resolutions:
Dec. 2: Ordinance repealing and recreating Section 2-2-2 of the Monroe City code: Meetings of the Board of Review. The wording more closely reflects that of state statue 70.47, allowing the Board of Review to grant a property owner a 60-day extension for a hearing related to an objection. The owner must submit with the objection a request to the board for the extension and payment of a fee in the amount specified in state statue section 70.47 (7)(c). (That cost currently is $100.) The extension may be further extended if the owner shows good cause.
Dec. 2: Ordinance creating Chapter 8 of Title 8 of the Monroe City Code: Illicit Discharge Detention and Elimination. The chapter applies to all water entering the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems.
Dec. 2: Ordinance rezoning property No. 134 (reset). Property is located on 21st Street, to be rezoned form M-1 (light industrial) to R-2 (medium density residential).
Dec. 2: Ordinance rezoning property No. 135 (reset). Property is located on Fourth Avenue West, to be rezoned from M-1 to B-2 (general business).
Dec. 2: To reconsider and possibly cancel Special Assessment for 2008 Street Construction Public Improvements (aka 16th Avenue). This is a "housekeeping" vote to complete the promise made May 6 by council members to 16th Avenue residents not to assess the street reconstruction costs.
Dec. 16: Ordinance repealing and recreating Section 5-17-6 (B) 2. (a) of the Monroe City Code: Historic Preservation Commission. The ordinance re-establishes the manner in which the public will be notified when considering the plan for the historic district.
Dec. 16: Ordinance rezoning property No. 136. Property is located on 27th Avenue and 6th Street, to be rezoned from R-2 to R-3 (multiple residence).
Jan. 6, 2009: Resolution vacating and discontinuing a portion of Fourth Avenue West and West Eighth Street rights-of-way.
