On June 3, Monroe Common Council: 

●   Held a public hearing on the detachment of 0.3 acres of land to the Town of Clarno south of the 800 block of 31st Street for the use of a septic tank with adjoining territory. The detachment was approved 8-0.

●   Set a public hearing for July 1 regarding a change of zoning and approval of a general development plan for Pursuit Processing LLC.

●   Adjusted the compensation and position within the organizational chart to save more than $14,000 by combining the duties of program coordinator with the wellness specialist position held by Bridget Cotter at Behring Senior Center. It reduces one full-time position into more than one part-time positions and adjusts the combined position to an hourly pay rate of $20.99.

●   Approved use of capital funds to purchase Public Safety Department vehicles for more than $123,000 to replace law enforcement vehicles and the sale of used equipment. 

●   Transferred ownership of retired K-9 Auggie to former handler Dan Maresch.

●   Authorized a reduced speed to 25 mph from 35 mph along the northern portion of 18th Avenue due to increased traffic as a result of construction along Wisconsin 11.

●   Approved the 2018 Compliance Maintenance Annual Report as presented by Utilities Supervisor Mike Kennison overviewing staffing, budget funds and permit statuses. There was only one violation from last year regarding spreading of excess nitrogen spread on fields, though the department received A grades in every category, Kennison said.

●   Heard a presentation from City Administrator Phil Rath on the annual budget and the priority-based budgeting process.
