MONROE - In a meeting Tuesday, the Monroe Common Council:

• Approved the mayoral nomination of Brooke Bauman to the Green County Solid Waste Board, as a replacement for Reid Stangel.

• Voted 8-1 to set the PILOT (payment in lieu of taxes) payment from Monroe Water Utility at $200,000 annually. Michael Boyce voted against.

• Approved Colony Brands Inc. Monroe Badger Days 4 to 11 p.m. June 22 in the 500 and 600 blocks of 14th Avenue, and University of Wisconsin Alumni Club of Green County Red Run Charity Run from 3 to 8 p.m. June 22 beginning in Twining Park.

• Voted 8-1 to approve temporary amendments to the licensed premises in conjunction with outdoor beer gardens for the Class B liquor and beer license issued to Leisure Lanes, Inc. from 6:30 until 10 p.m. on Wednesdays in June, July and August. Charles Koch voted against.

• Approved a sidewalk cafe permit and amended the licensed premises description for the alcohol beverage license issued to Tia's Mexican Grill, LLC at 1014 17th Ave.

• Approved change order No. 15 for the wastewater treatment facility upgrade contracts with Miron Construction Company, adding a net increase value of $48,300. This change order brings the total contract cost to $26.4 million, up from the original $24.8 million.

Mayor Bill Ross proclaimed June 15 as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day in Monroe.
