MONROE - In a meeting Wednesday, the City of Monroe Plan Commission:

- Elected Nate Klassy as vice-chairman and Dave Powers as secretary, as required for annual reorganization.

- Recommended to the council to approve a certified survey map for a lot in Monroe (North) Business and Industry Park for A & K Properties, LLC, (Lamers Bus Lines).

- Approved a site plan and building plans for A & K Properties, LLC for land in Monroe (North) Business and Industry Park.

- Approved a conditional use permit for a storage shed and the concept for a Lamers Bus Lines sign at 2665 3rd St. N.

- Approved a conditional use permit for construction of an 8-foot high privacy fence at 2842 1st St.

- Recommended to the council to approve a request to rezone property at 916 17th St. from a medium density residential district to a general business district.

- Set a special meeting for May 30.

MONROE - In a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Board of Public Works elected Reid Stangel as president and Chuck Schuringa as vice president of the board.

Michael Boyce was absent.

MONROE - In a meeting Monday, the Salary and Personnel Committee recommended hiring Elizabeth Soren as the assistant Behring Senior Center coordinator, to replace Jocelyn Kline who is retiring in June. The Common Council is expected to vote on authorizing the hiring at a meeting May 15.
