MONROE - In a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Board of Public Works:- Approved a permit, contingent upon proper insurance being presented, for Monroe Main Street to display about 25-30 carved wood pieces around the square during summer of 2011. The wooden animals range from 3 to 12 feet in height. Monroe Main Street is expected to have attained its organization status separate from the city by the start of the event.- Approved for payment $1,860 from Whitney Tree Service for tree trimming and removal, and $1,500 from Fehr-Graham and Associates from 8th and 9th street detour signage project.- Recommend to the council to hire Fehr-Graham and Associates for $12,900 for environmental consultant services for 8th/9th Street project.- Authorized negotiations with AECOM of Madison fora contractfor wastewater treatment plant facilities planning.- Authorized Street Department to seek quotes for replacement of waste oil furnace.
