MONROE - During a meeting Tuesday, the Monroe City Council:

• Set a public hearing date of May 5 for an ordinance changing alcohol beverage license quotas and establishing guidelines for issuance.

• Set a public hearing date of May 19 for Special Ordinance No. 140: Rezoning Property to Planned Unit Development District and Adopting General Development Plan and Specific Implementation Plan for Northeast Park Planned Unit Development.

• Approved claims in the amount of $185,167.25.

• Granted electrical contractor's licenses to Morse Electrical LLC (Mark Johnson).

• Passed unanimously a resolution approving and agreement with Carrico Aquatic Resources, Inc., for maintenance of the public swimming pool.

• Passed unanimously a resolution approving an addendum to the contract with Irv's Masonry for filling in the coal vaults on the downtown Square.

Alderman Mark Coplien asked the city clerk to schedule a meeting for the Finance and Taxation and the Salary and Personnel committees to revisit the city administrator's position.
