Monroe Cab seeks drivers to return to normal operational hours

MONROE — There are a shortage of evening shift drivers at the Monroe Cab, which has affected operational hours and wait times for riders. It is the goal of Monroe Cab to resume to regular hours as soon as possible.

The cab company, in association with the City of Monroe looking for friendly night shift drivers to operate Monroe Shared Ride Taxi vehicles to transport residents to and from destinations of their choice within a designated local service area. Interested retirees or others looking for part time, flexible work schedule that benefits the community is encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be 23 years of age or older, drug free, have a valid (non-probationary) Wisconsin driver’s license and a good driving/personal record. Applicants will be subject to pre-employment background and drug/alcohol evaluations. The current hours of operation are 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To request a ride, call 608-325-6993 during hours of operation. To ensure a ride before closing, it is recommended to call dispatch with a 30-minute notice.

Continued CDC Guidelines that Monroe Cab is following in regard to Shared- Ride Services are as follows:

●  Practice physical distancing.

●  Limit the number of passengers in the vehicle to only those who need to travel with you.

●  Avoid shared rides where multiple passengers are picked up who are not in the same household.

●  Sit in the back seat in larger vehicles, such as vans and buses, so you can remain at least 6 feet (about two arm lengths) away, or as far as possible, from the driver. When possible, sit in the rear seat diagonally across from the driver.
