MONROE - During a meeting Monday, the City of Monroe Board of Public Works:

• Approved a permit application from Alliant Energy to install underground electric for the expansion project at Monroe Clinic.

• Approved for payment bills in the amounts of $19,832.03 for TIF 7; $537 for 8/9th Street sewer; $19,942 for Wal-Mart Supercenter; and $1,797 for water system improvement from Fehr-Graham & Associates. Gerald Ellefson, Wastewater Treatment Plant supervisor, said part of the Wal-Mart costs will be charged to Wal-Mart.

• Heard from Water Department Supervisor Mike Kennison, who reported on abandoning Mitek's private well at the airport. Kennison said the matter had been resolved after a well sampling, which "came back OK."
