MONROE - A mentoring program designed to help freshmen have a successful first year at Monroe High School will receive a big boost, thanks to a donation from AT&T that will be announced at 2:15 p.m. Monday at an event at the high school.
Leaders from the Monroe School District, Monroe High School and the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin will join together with AT&T and State Senator Howard Marklein to announce the AT&T donation that will help continue the Link Crew Program at the high school. The goal of Link Crew is to connect incoming freshmen with junior and senior mentors to help them get off to the right start and achieve success in their first year of high school. Nearly 200 freshmen and about 40 junior and senior mentors are participating in the program at Monroe High School this year.
The AT&T Wisconsin Innovation and Investment Award program provides funding to local organizations that enhance and give back to their communities. For more information, contact Jessica Erickson, AT&T Wisconsin, 608-692-5340 or at jessica.erickson@att.com.
