MONROE - Azura Memory Care will honor individuals with Alzheimer's disease by creating a lighted Memory Tree outside of their facility, 2800 6th Ave., between 6 and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7.

"We wanted to shine a light on the need for more education and a cure for Alzheimer's disease," said Tammy Pence, director of community relations for Azura Memory Care. "Our Memory Tree will give a true representation of how many people in our community are affected by this disease."

A short program and refreshments will be provided at no cost. The public is welcome to attend, and reservations are not necessary.

The tree will be lit from 5 to 10 p.m. each night during the month of November, and the public is welcome to view the display at any time.

In addition, the community is encouraged to reserve a light in honor of a loved one touched by Alzheimer's disease or dementia. The cost is $5 per light, with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Alliance. Reservations can be made payable to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Alliance and can be sent to: Azura Memory Care, Attn: Paulette Williams, 2800 6th Avenue, Monroe, WI, 53566.

The reserved community Memory Lights will be added to the outside display on Wednesday, Nov. 7 as part of Azura Memory Care's Memory Tree lighting for Alzheimer's and will burn for the remainder of the month.

More information is available by contacting Pence at (608) 295-2764 or Paulette Williams at (608) 329-6340.
