Memorial Hospital benefit concert is Friday

DARLINGTON - Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will host five local bands at the county-wide Band-Aid 4 fundraising event, which will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 at Bridges Banquet Center.

The featured bands include The Stump Fiddle Band, Fever River String Band, Sexy Esther and The Pretty Mama Sisters, Sunshine, and Transition.

The Stump Fiddle Band provides a down-home, easy style of classic country and gospel hits.

The Fever River String Band is a five member band that plays a mix of bluegrass and old time country.

Sexy Esther and The Pretty Mama Sisters is made up of a five piece band that was called "a straight ahead classic rock outfit" by Madison's Magazine.

Sunshine is described as a power trio of guitar, electric bass and drums that perform hits from the late 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, blended with traditional and contemporary country music.

Transition dabble with a little country music but focus more on music from the Beatles, John Cougar and other 60s through 80s groups.

Band-Aid 4 will also feature food and raffles. Advance tickets are on sale now for $8 at Memorial Hospital, First National Bank of Darlington, Talmer Band and Trust, Benton State Bank or by contacting any Auxiliary Member. Tickets will be $10 at the door the night of the event. All proceeds will benefit Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County.
