MONROE - A Memorial Day Dedication will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Green County Veterans Park. The program will include the reading of names by Donna Douglas of monetary and brick donors and received donations, with Monroe American Legion Post 84 Commander Dennis Swank as a guest speaker. Opening remarks will be by GCVMP president Larry Ayres.
The invocation will be by Brodhead American Legion chaplain Mike McGoff. The Pledge Of Allegiance will be led by GCVMP board member and VFW Auxiliary Post 2312 president Vicki Haffele. Closing comments will be by GCVMP vice president William Hustad.
The Honor Guard from Cecil Jones VFW Post 2312 and Zilmer Riley American Legion Post 84 will be present and "Taps" will be played by GCVMP board member Bruce Sutherland.
Committee members are Ayres, Karne Ayres, Hustad, Jackie Hustad, Douglas, Sutherland, Alex Olson, Haffele and Ed Andreas.
