MADISON - UW Health's Med Flight will host a community-wide open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at its new satellite base at the Iowa County Airport, 3151 State Road in Mineral Point.
The facility is a 2,000-square-foot space located inside a hangar with 24-hour office space, storage for medical supplies and support equipment for the EC-135 helicopter.
The satellite base has been in operation since May 9. The base was established to cut response times to southwestern Wisconsin. Response times have been reduced by as much as 20 minutes.
Members of the community who attend the open house will be able to see the aircraft, tour the space and meet Med Flight physicians, nurses and pilots.
