Why are you seeking this position? What makes you the best candidate?
I am running to reconnect the people of Monroe to their local government. My ability to listen, as well as (having) a new perspective, would serve Monroe immensely.
What role does the mayor play in Monroe's city government, and what would you do to best fill that role?
The mayor is truly a leadership position. Besides presiding over council meetings, the mayor should be available to the general public for questions, comments and concerns. As mayor, I will keep better relations with the people of Monroe. The mayor should honor the trust that the people bestow upon him when elected.
What one issue is the City of Monroe now facing, and which do you consider most important? How would you recommend the Common Council handle it?
The most important challenge facing Monroe is the lack of jobs. The mayor and council need to come together and explore all possibilities to get people back to work locally. It is time for the city to pursue these common interests with enticing tax incentives.
What vision of Monroe's future do you hold, and what steps does the city need to take to reach that vision?
It is my hope that Monroe will get back its sense of opportunity with lower taxes. To better serve our community, the council and mayor need to market Monroe for these jobs. The people of Monroe deserve more breathing room when it comes to taxes. We can overcome this challenge by being more responsible with our tax revenue. Together we can make Monroe a city that truly brings you back.
