DARLINGTON - A Darlington man was sentenced this week to six months in jail and three years of probation for his fifth conviction of driving while intoxicated.
Paul E. Jacobsen, 49, pleaded guilty to the felony offense Wednesday, Dec. 5, according to court records. His license is revoked two years, after which time he'll only be able to drive with a breath-alcohol ignition interlock device on the vehicle.
Darlington police arrested Jacobsen June 3 on Main Street. He was released from jail two days later on a $5,000 signature bond.
Other conditions of his probation include an alcohol-abuse assessment and payment of $1,357 in court fees. Green County Judge Thomas Vale handled the case.
State court records indicate Jacobsen's past drunk driving convictions include offenses in July 2000, May 2003 and August 2007.
