MONROE - A 67-year-old man was killed Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision on Wisconsin 81 in the Town of Monroe.
According to the Green County Sheriff's Office, the man was westbound in the 3200 block of Wis. 81 when his van veered across the centerline into the path of an eastbound truck.
A University of Wisconsin MedFlight crew responded to the collision and declared the driver of the van dead at the scene.
The collision overturned the two-axle truck, but the truck driver was unharmed.
The roadway was closed for about five hours while crews investigated and cleared the scene.
The Monroe police and fire departments assisted on scene, along with county deputies, the Green County Highway Depart-ment and Green County EMS.
The Green County Sheriff's Department withheld the name of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
