MONROE - A Monroe man was arrested Thursday evening after a suspected controlled substance was delivered to him through the U.S. Postal Service.
Brandon Lohaus, 41, was arrested at the Monroe Post Office when he attempted to pick up a package suspected of containing a controlled substance, said Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley.
Lohaus was charged with possession of methamphetamines in Iowa County in March in an unrelated incident.
Kelley said Monroe police made the arrest in cooperation with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, which alerted the police to the suspicious package.
Julie Kelley, public information representative for the Postal Inspection Service, said she could not provide more information about an ongoing investigation.
Kelley said Lohaus is currently being held in the Green County Jail pending charges. In addition to any charges the Postal Inspection Service levies, Lohaus will also face counts of bail jumping.
