MONROE - A Monroe man faces his fourth drunk driving charge after police say they found him passed out in a running vehicle next to an open bottle of beer.
Nathan L. Wiesenberg, Jr., 36, was arrested late Wednesday, Oct. 31, on charges of driving while intoxicated and possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He also had an outstanding warrant issued by the Green County Sheriff's Department for failure to pay child support.
Monroe police responded at 11:19 p.m. to a report that Wiesenberg was in a convenience store parking lot in the 1000 block of 9th Street, passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle with its headlights and taillights lit.
Police report finding a small amount of marijuana on him, plus a "one-hitter" smoking device.
Wiesenberg was jailed. In Green County Circuit Court on Thursday, Nov. 1, his signature bond was set at $2,000 on the felony DWI charge and at $2,000 on a felony charge of marijuana possession as a repeat offender and a misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia. His preliminary hearing is Nov. 21.
Court records indicate Wiesenberg is convicted of driving drunk in Green County in April 2004 (second offense) and November 2007 (third offense).
