Man escapes, quickly caught

MONROE - The Green County Sheriff's Department apprehended a Monroe man after he briefly escaped from police custody Friday morning.

Ryan T. King, 32, escaped custody at 4:48 a.m. at the Monroe Clinic, where he had been admitted for non-life-threatening injuries after a car accident. King was in police custody for fourth-offense driving while intoxicated, a Class H felony.

King was apprehended once again at 9:12 a.m. in the Town of Washington by a Green County Sheriff's deputy and a Monroe Police officer.

Felony charges of escaping custody are now pending. Until then, King remains in custody at the Green County Jail.
