DAVIS, Illinois — Medics tried but were unable to save a rural Shannon driver after a traffic crash last week on Illinois 75 at Church Road near Davis.

Daniel Snetcher, 38, was extricated from the GMC pickup truck but succumbed to his severe injuries at the crash scene, according to the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office.

First responders were dispatched to the crash at about 9:20 p.m. Nov. 14 and arrived to find the pickup truck in the former railroad grade cut at the intersection.

According to his obituary, Snetcher was a lifelong farmer on his family farm and is survived by two sons and a daughter.
