DARLINGTON - Police arrested a convicted felon at an Argyle residence Friday who was "in possession of numerous firearms along with a very large supply of ammunition," as well as drugs, according to a news release issued by the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department.
Anthony J. Nolan, 39, faces charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of illegal narcotics, authorities said.
The 1968 Gun Control Act forbids felons from owning guns.
A search warrant was executed at the Valley Road residence Friday morning, the release said. The investigation was a joint effort between the sheriff's department and the Argyle Police Department, with assistance from the Monroe Police Department, Beloit Police Department, Rock County Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations, Argyle Fire Department and Argyle EMS.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
