MONROE - A Monroe man was arrested on Friday for possessing marijuana with intent to sell within 1,000 feet from a school.
David A. Burgos, 23, was arrested at 1:28 p.m. in the 2700 block of 8 1/2 Street after officers and agents from the Stateline Area Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant at an apartment at the address. Burgos was charged with possession of several grams of marijuana, possession with intent to sell within 1,000 feet from a school and possession of drug paraphernalia. Burgos was jailed pending court. A press release from the Monroe Police Department stated several grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seized.
According to online court records, Burgos was convicted of possessing 37.8 grams of marijuana in March 2013 stemming from an incident that occurred in January 2010.
