DARLINGTON — A Darlington man was arrested on 10 counts of possessing child pornography after a search of a Keep Street residence Monday, Dec. 30, according to Chief of Police Jason King.

Juan Velazquez-Lopez, 56, was jailed on the charges after Darlington police executed a search warrant on the home starting at 8:40 a.m. They were assisted by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations.

Immigration Control and Enforcement has also placed a detainer on Lopez. Additional charges are possible, according to King. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted police in the investigation that was the basis for the search warrant.
