MONROE - An 18-year-old rural Monroe man was killed Monday afternoon after being thrown from a tractor.
The victim has been officially identified by Green County Coroner Kris Hasse as 18-year-old Troy Gorr of rural Monroe.
The accident happened at about 2:20 p.m. in the 3800 block of Oliver Road, according to the Green County Sheriff's Department. Reports indicate a tractor hauling an empty manure spreader lost control and entered the ditch on the east side of the road and overturned. The driver was ejected and later found unresponsive by a passer-by.
Monticello Fire Department and EMS units from Brodhead and Monroe assisted in efforts to resuscitate the victim. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Green County coroner's office.
The accident remains under investigation. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the family and was not released as of press time Monday.
