Madison musician to present free children's concert

MONROE - Madison singer, songwriter and musician Ken Lonnquist will present a free children's concert from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Monroe Arts Center, 1315 11th St.

Lonnquist, along with guest pianist Dave Adler, will entertain with original songs that feature delicate melodies and delightful lyrics, topped off with his sharp comedic wit. Lonnquist has performed throughout the U.S. and has won the Best of Madison Gold Award as Children's Musician and Parent's Choice. In addition, he has composed 15 full-scale musicals for the Children's Theater of Madison.

Geared for children in pre-school through 8th grade, this performance is the second of three concerts in the Monroe Arts Center's Family and Kids Series. The first 10 families in attendance Saturday are eligible to receive a free, autographed copy of Lonnquist's music DVD "Sign 'n Song." This concert is open to the public, and tickets are not required.

The final concert of the series will take place at 11 a.m. Nov. 19.
