MONROE - Monroe Arts Center recently announced the cast for the production of the musical "Gloria, The Christmas Angel."
Performances are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 and Friday, Dec. 7 at the Monroe Arts Center, 1315 11th St., Monroe. The production is directed by Judy Knudtson, with musical direction by Cindy Blanc and choreography by Katherine Zastrow.
Based on the story by Scott A. Asalone, "Gloria, The Christmas Angel" is about Gloria, a "not-so-perfect" angel. She is a klutzy young angel who feels unfit and forgotten but then finds the power to believe in herself when no one else does. Because she sees beyond appearances, Gloria gives courage to those who seem prone to failure and reminds everyone the world is full of imperfect creatures.
Cast members are: Maddie Schluesche, as Gloria; Louie and Phyllis Studer as Grandpa and Grandma; Maddison Markham as Granddaughter No. 1; Christina Grenzow as Granddaughter No. 2; Anika Nelson as Gabriella/jazz dancer; Cammi Ganshert as Raphaella; Allison Kay Brennan, Cailey Cahoon, Lily Frehner, Madelyn Helland, Rebekah Rath, Bri Seagreaves, Alexa Thayer, Sunny Vang and Olivia Wiegel as angels; Ayden Bergemann, Keegan Dahmen, Christopher Page, J.T. Seagreaves, Henry Schluesche, Daniel Sniff and Quentin Vestin as shepherds; Raegen Buhlmann, Josie Coglianese, Keyana Lenick, Kalena Riemer, Stephanie Saunders, Felicity Short, Kylie Swazick and Anna Zentner as sugar plum dancers; Alicia Brunton, Isabella Brunton and Melana Brunton as rainbow dancers; and Jesse Kade Anderson, Troy Carpenter and Jessica Shaker as jazz dancers.
The performances of "Gloria, The Christmas Angel" are free and tickets are not required.
