Trunk or Treat will be this Sunday

ALBANY - The Albany Community Center is hosting Trunk or Treat from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 at the Albany Lion's Club, 402 North Cincinnati St.

The community center is looking for individuals, families or businesses to decorate their vehicles. For those who would like to participate but are unable to afford the candy, the center will be able to help.

The sponsors of the event will park their cars together and open their trunks to reveal themed decorations which will include Halloween, safari, disco, candy store or a slumber party. Children will walk from trunk to trunk to look at the decorations and receive candy and treats.

From 5:30 to 6 p.m., a dinner will be available. The cost is $6 a person and will include lasagna, garlic bread, a small side salad, a drink and dessert. Pre-orders for meals need to be sent to the Albany Community Center by Friday, Oct. 27. There will be a limited amount of food for sale at the event that is outside of the pre-ordered meals. Pre-order forms are available on the community center's Facebook page; under the "Community" tab at www.albany.k12.wi.us; Albertson Memorial Library, 200 N. Water St.; and Albany Mobil, 700 N. Cincinnati St.

After dinner, the community center will show the Disney movie, "The Haunted Mansion." The showing is free, and free popcorn will be available for anyone in costume. There will also be candy, drinks and popcorn for sale.

Orangeville

Home for the Holidays is Nov. 17

ORANGEVILLE - A Community Together is sponsoring its fifth annual Home for the Holidays Art and Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Orangeville United Methodist Church, 111 South East St.

A silent auction will be held in conjunction with the craft show and the Orangeville Music Boosters will sponsor the lunch stand. Proceeds from this year's event will go to the summer concerts.

Monroe

Trick-or-treating to begin after parade

MONROE - Main Street Monroe's Trick-or-Treating officially begins after the parade on Halloween, Wednesday, Oct. 31.

There are more than a dozen businesses downtown that will welcome trick-or-treaters after the parade. The stores will have a poster on their door welcoming trick-or-treaters. The parade starts at 4:30 p.m. Main Street will sell hot chocolate and apple cider during and after the parade.

Each parade participant receives a trick-or-treat bag with some candy and coupons and donations from area businesses.
