Rides will be available at weekend canoe festival
DARLINGTON - Revelers at this weekend's Canoe Festival can take advantage of free taxi rides home, thanks to a state grant.
This is the third consecutive year the Darlington Police Department has received a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to partner with the Road Crew of Darlington to provide the free rides.
The program is intended to keep roads safe by providing a free rides to those who may be drinking during the Darlington Canoe Festival.
Free taxi rides will be available Friday night, June 8, from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., and Saturday night, June 9, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Anyone who wishes to use the service can ask a bartender or police officer, or hail a taxi as it passes.

Cards for Fair share drawing now available
MONROE - Shares are now available for the Green County Fair.
Cards will be available at the fair office, 2600 10th St., and must be turned in no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, June 29. Cards may be dropped in the mail slot at the office also.
The drawing will take place the first week of July. Names drawn will be contacted and given five business days to complete the purchase of their share.
