DARLINGTON - The Lafayette County Fire Chief's Association has instituted a burning ban for all areas in Lafayette County, effective immediately.
Fire departments have already been called out for numerous field and grass fires, using valuable time and resources for what could be considered unnecessary events, Emergency Management Director F. John Reichling said in a release.
All Lafayette County fire chiefs are requesting compliance with the ban until further notice.
If residents have questions about the ban, they are urged to contact their local fire chief for assistance.
