DARLINGTON - The Lafayette County Fair isn't moving anywhere.
Despite rumors to the contrary, the Lafayette County Fair will take place as planned at the county fairgrounds in Darlington June 25-29.
The fairgrounds were flooded after recent rains, which caused the Lafayette County Dairy Breakfast to move from the fairgrounds to the county highway department.
Rumors were circulating that the fair was going to relocate to Mineral Point in Iowa County.
Not true, said fair organizer Wayne Wilson.
He said the fairgrounds are drying out. The east end is still wet, but Wilson predicted a few more days of dry weather would be enough to solidify the ground.
