Willing participants are asked to bring two transparent, label-free bottles, one for display and one for judging, to the Lafayette County Fair Office between 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday. Three prizes will be awarded, providing full payback for the $5 contest entry fee. The first-place bottle will be auctioned off on Saturday.

A new event - bed racing - is set for 1 p.m. Sunday. Applicants for the race need a twin-size mattress or larger decorated however they like. The bed needs four wheels attached to a sturdy frame, and the beds must be powered and steered by four pushers, no ropes or chains. Applicants must apply by Wednesday to compete for a prize of $500.
