DARLINGTON - After serving 21 years as Lafayette County clerk of court, Catherine "Kitty" McGowan has announced that she will not be seeking re-election at the end of her term.
McGowan has served as clerk of court for the county since 1997. McGowan will step down Jan. 7, 2019, when a newly elected clerk is sworn in.
Anyone interested in seeking the position of Lafayette County clerk of court must file at the Lafayette County Clerk's Office and have a minimum of 200 signatures filed into the office by June 1.
