DARLINGTON - A bus tour of Lafayette County, sponsored by Home and Community Education, University of Wisconsin-Extension and the Aging, Disability, and Resource Center of Lafayette County, is set for Thursday, Oct. 17. The Lafayette County bus tour will leave from Casey's General Store, 145 Main St., at 10 a.m.
The bus tour will feature historic sites throughout Lafayette County including the "M" on the Platteville Mound, a local winery and lunch in Belmont. After participants have lunch on their own, the tour will visit historical markers at Wisconsin's Territorial Capital in Belmont, Lead Mine, Benton, New Diggings, Shullsburg, Cottonwood Dairy, Argyle, Blanchardville and Yellowstone Lake State Park. The trip will end in Darlington.
The cost for the bus trip is $12.
