BRODHEAD - Kuhn's two U. S. companies, Kuhn Farm Machinery, Inc. and Kuhn Knight, Inc., merged to create Kuhn North America, Inc. Jan. 1, 2008.

Kuhn Farm Machinery was the North American marketing and distribution arm of Kuhn Group, and Kuhn Knight was the manufacturing company.

Frank O'Brien, Kuhn's marketing manager, said the merger makes the business of marketing and selling the two brands easier for its farm equipment dealerships. Dealers can now work through, and be concerned with the paperwork and policies of, just one company. Kuhn and Kuhn Knight products are sold throughout the United States, Canada and many other counties.

Kuhn announced that the integration went progressively and smoothly, and resulted in the positive development of all their business lines in North America.

"The quality, training, commitment and growth of our workforce, our aggressive business strategy and our regional distribution organization set us apart from other suppliers, and will continue," President and CEO Thierry Krier said. "This merger has no impact whatsoever on our business growth strategy of marketing two groups of product lines under the name 'Kuhn' and 'Kuhn Knight' through two dealer network organizations, our commitment to distribute products regionally through our six Regional Distribution Centers, or our employee staffing levels."

The merger concludes the five-year integration process planned for Kuhn Knight, Inc. following the purchase of the company by Kuhn Group in December 2002.

Kuhn is a leading innovator in the field of agricultural and industrial equipment, specializing in spreaders, mixers, hay tools, and tillage tools.
