Kindness embraces local family

Photo by Janesville Gazette Still bearing the injuries and scars he received in a serious car accident in early March, 12-year-old Clay Spooner rolled a few frames at a benefit held for him on April 2 at Cardinal Lanes in Brodhead. Both of Spooners parents died as a result of the accident.
BRODHEAD - Cody Spooner brought his mom's old bowling ball to the fundraiser.Mom had loved bowling, he said. For a second, a smile lit up Spooner's face. It came and went quickly, but it was one of those smiles that makes a person feel better to see it.
