Kelly replaces Asmus as court commissioner

MONROE - Peter B. Kelly, Monroe, was appointed Green County Court Commissioner by Green County Circuit Court judges James Beer and Thomas Vale.

Kelly is one of four court commissioners for the county. He joins other court commissioners Timm Burns, Charles Wellington and Jeff Ingebritson.

Kelly's job as court commissioner will include signing search warrants, reviewing documents to allow the police to hold someone in jail over a weekend and performing weddings.

He is a graduate of Marquette University Law School, has an undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, and master's degrees from the University of Michigan, Ave Maria University and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He has practiced law in Monroe since 1986.

Kelly will replace Clarance Asmus, who served as court commissioner for several years.
