MONROE - Deadlines in selecting a jury have been set for a Monroe man accused of repeatedly sexual assaulting a teen, whom he later adopted.

James M. Norquay, 49, did not appeared in court Friday but his attorney Eric Schulenburg, along with Assistant Attorney General Dennis Krueger, who is prosecuting the case for Green County, appeared before Green County Circuit Judge Thomas Vale via telephone.

The attorneys met to agree on the potential 70-juror pool for the trial that was set in May, and set up a timeline for when questionnaires are due by the attorneys. The questionnaires will be used to evaluate eligibility of the jury pool.

On Sept. 6, questionnaires are to be completed by attorneys for the potential selection. The attorneys are set to receive the questionnaires back on Sept. 26.

The finalists for the jury pool are set to be summoned on Oct. 5.

Schulenberg said he is still reviewing discovery made by the prosecution.

A status and scheduling conference is set for 8:30 a.m. Aug. 2. Norquay's five-day jury trial is set for Nov. 14.

Norquay is charged with second-degree sexual assault of a child, a class C felony; three counts of sexual assault of a child by a foster parent or treatment foster parent, a class C Felony; and two counts of incest with a child, a class C felony.
