TOWN OF JEFFERSON - A rural Juda man injured earlier this month in a one-vehicle accident has died of his injuries, according to reports from the Green County Sheriff's Department.
Michael A. Bliss, 54, was in critical condition when he was flown by helicopter to the Rockford Memorial Hospital after a crash Aug. 9 near the intersection of County KS and County S in the Town of Jefferson.
Bliss was eastbound on County KS at about 8 p.m. when he lost control on a curve, entered the ditch and collided with a stop sign. He then continued across County S and collided with an embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn onto its roof. Bliss was partially ejected.
The Winnebago County Coroner's office notified the sheriff's department of his death Monday, Aug. 20.
It is the sixth traffic fatality in Green County this year.
