MONROE - Career Connections, a division of Green County Human Services' Economic Support Unit, is sponsoring a four-week series designed to help job-seekers through all stages of the employment process.

The series will meet from 9 a.m. to noon every Wednesday, beginning Nov. 10. Sessions will be held on the first floor at the Government Services Building, N3152 State Road 81. Participants should go to the blue Career Connections reception desk.

The series will cover:

n Week 1, Job Readiness: In this session, job seekers will review and build the skills they need to find employment. The focus of this session will be analyzing current skills, documenting job history, and learning the basics of resume writing.

n Week 2, Job Search and Application: This session is designed to teach job seekers how to successfully search for jobs and use job descriptions to tailor application materials. Topics covered in this session will include techniques for job searching, deciphering want ads, and how to create a targeted resume and cover letter.

n Week 3, Interviewing Skills and Preparation: The third session will teach job seekers the art of successful interviewing. Topics will include how to successfully land an interview, interview preparation, and tips and tricks to execute a successful interview.

n Week 4, Keeping the Job: In this session, job seekers will learn what to do after successfully getting hired. Topics addressed in this session will include proper on-the-job etiquette, how to handle sick children, how to deal with co-workers and supervisors, and more.
