MONROE - A Janesville man was arrested Wednesday for sexually assaulting a child after a warrant for his arrest was filed last month.

Kyle Lee Marcus Farage, 20, faces a Class C felony count of second-degree sexual assault of a child, a misdemeanor count of obstructing an officer and two misdemeanor counts of bail jumping.

Farage was charged after an incident on Feb. 10 when the man had sexual contact with an underage girl at a Monticello residence.

The girl told police officers that she was sleeping when Farage entered where she was and attempted to remove her clothes. When she told him no, he left the room temporarily.

Farage returned sometime later and repeatedly touched the girl sexually. The girl said she attempted to scream but Farage covered her mouth.

Farage then had sex with the girl before leaving the room.

In an interview with police, Farage briefly denied having any sexual contact with the girl before admitting to having sex with her, although he insisted the contact was consensual.

Farage was charged on June 12, but was not apprehended until Wednesday. He signed a $5,000 cash bond and a $45,000 signature bond Thursday with conditions that he have no contact with girls younger than 18 years old.

Farage's maximum possible sentence is 25 years in prison.
