Immunization Clinics scheduled for 2013

MONROE - The Green County Health Department announced its 2013 Immunization Clinic schedule.

Dates for the Monroe clinics are Jan. 8 and 22; Feb. 12 and 26; March 12 and 26; April 9 and 23; May 14 and 28; June 11 and 25; July 9 and 23; Aug. 13 and 27; Sept. 10 and 24; Oct. 8 and 22; Nov. 12 and 26; and Dec. 10. The clinics will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Green County Health Department.

Dates for the Brodhead clinics are Aug. 20 and Nov. 19. The Brodhead clinics will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Bank of Brodhead, 806 East Exchange.

Available childhood vaccinations include: Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (DTaP); Tetanus/Pertussis (Tdap); Inactivated Polio; Hepatitis B; Hepatitis A; Haemophilus Influenzae type B; measles, mumps, Rubella (MMR); Varicella (chicken pox); Pneumococcal (Prevnar); Meningococcal (Menactra); Influenza; Gardisil (HPV); and Rotavirus.

Available adult vaccinations include Hepatitis A; Hepatitis B; Tetanus/Pertussis (Tdap); Influenza; and Shingles (Zostavax).

As of Oct. 1, Green County Health Department can no longer immunize any children or adults who have private health insurance covering vaccines, even if they must meet a deductible or have a co-pay. The change is due to federal budget limitations.

The department will be able to immunize children through 18 years who:

• Are completely uninsured.

• Have Medical Assistance or Badger Care.

• Have "major medical insurance" (only covering hospitalization; no preventive care coverage).
