MONROE -- No one was injured after a man brandished a pistol at Monroe Clinic Hospital demanding medication from a staff member Thursday.
According to a Monroe Police Department news release, Antonio S. Buss, 29,Lena, Ill., came into the clinic for an appointment then pointed a pistol at a staff member. The staff kept Buss calm while other workers notified police. Buss then fled the building after learning police were responding.
Clinic staff provided police with Buss's identity and a description of the vehicle he was driving. Lena Police arrested Buss at about 6:45 p.m. He was allegedly in possession of the pistol at the time.
He is currently being held in Stephenson County jail awaiting extradition proceedings for tentative charges of attempted armed robbery, reckless use of a weapon and criminal trespassing with a firearm. The incident remains under investigation.
