BRODHEAD — A driver with her 9-year-old in the back seat was arrested Sunday on a fourth-offense charge of operating while under the influence of marijuana, according to the Brodhead Police Department.

Leighanne Robinson, 34, South Beloit, Illinois, was stopped for speeding in the 300 block of 1st Street at about 6:40 p.m.

Police "detected an odor of marijuana inside her car while speaking with her," according to a release. Robinson admitted that she had smoked marijuana while tubing on the Sugar River earlier in the day.

Police reported locating marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Robinson’s vehicle.

Robinson was booked into the Green County Jail on charges of operating while under the influence, bail jumping and possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She is out on bail as the result of pending cases in Outagamie County for marijuana possession and unlawful use of a telephone, according to police.

The child in Robinson's vehicle was turned over to a family member. The case remains under investigation pending blood-test results from the State Crime Lab.
