MONROE - The Green County Historical Society now has a website, which went live Monday.

The site got 800 views in the first three days, even though the site has not yet been indexed by the Google search engine.

The site features information about the society's museum, history, board of directors, items for purchase and a photo gallery that includes items on display at the museum.

The site was designed and set up by Monroe Alderman Brooke Bauman, the city representative appointed to the historical society's board of directors in April.

The new website can be viewed at www.greencountywihistoricalsociety.org. The link and more information can be found at the Green County Historical Society (WI) Facebook page. The link can also be found on the city's website, Bauman said.

The museum will be open during Cheese Days weekend: Noon to 5 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $2 for adults, free for ages 12 and under (with an adult), and $1 for all others.

The museum has some newly renovated areas, including its stained-glass windows, and will have displays featuring 160 years of the Green County Fair, 100 years of Cheese Days and more than 100 mustache cups. Men with a naturally grown mustache will get in free.
