MADISON - After being re-elected last Tuesday, State Rep. Steve Hilgenberg, D-Dodgeville, pledged to maintain open lines of communication with the citizens of the 51st District and uphold his commitment to constituent service.

"My job as your Assemblyman is to represent you and to be effective," Hilgenberg said. "Since I took office, I have made a determined effort to be available to my constituents as much as possible, whether it be through a local meeting, a listening session or at your front door."

Rep. Hilgenberg added that his office always will be available to discuss state issues, advise constituents on local matters, and help citizens access government services. He encourages constituents to contact his office toll free at (888) 534-0051 or via e-mail at Rep.Hilgenberg@legis.wi.gov.

Over the past two years, Hilgenberg's office has processed more than 500 constituent cases.

Hilgenberg also encourages constituents to visit his Web site at http://www.legis.state.wi.us/ assembly/asm51/news/index. htm. The Web site provides a biography, an archive of updated press materials, a Kids' Page, and a "Contact Me" link where visitors can submit questions and concerns.

"Constituent service is a central part of my job, and I take great satisfaction in making government work for you," Hilgenberg said.
