GRATIOT — Five suspects were arrested, some on felony drug charges, following what police characterized as a “high risk” traffic stop in Gratiot on Wednesday, April 3.

The ordeal began just before 7 a.m., when the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of two suspicious vehicles parked at the Conoco Boco gas station on Wis. 11 in Gratiot.

“The caller reported that the occupants of the vehicles had been using illegal narcotics and were in possession of at least two firearms. It was also reported that some of the occupants also had valid arrest warrants,” said Lafayette County Sheriff Reg Gill in a press release.

Deputies responded to the gas station and performed a “high-risk vehicle contact” there. As a result, several defendants were arrested and taken to the Lafayette County Jail.

The arrests include:

Matthew David Gilbertson, 40, most recently of Monroe, was arrested with pending charges of Possession of Methamphetamines, Possession of Meth paraphernalia, Felon in possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.

Dillon Cody Lindsey, 26, formerly of Blanchardville, arrested on two “Body Only” warrants in Lafayette County.

Aaron Emerson Melton, 24, most recently of Monroe, arrested for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of THC, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and a Probation Violation.

Noah M. Amacher, 21, most recently of Monroe, arrested for Possession of Meth Paraphernalia and Possession of THC.

Kaitlyn Mae Kendall, 28, most recently of Monroe, arrested on a valid arrest warrant through Green County.

The four male offenders remained in the Lafayette County Jail as of press time Thursday. Kaitlyn Kendall was transported to the Green County Jail.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene and impounded by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.

This remains an ongoing investigation and additional charges may be issued, pending review by the Lafayette County District Attorney’s Office.
