MONROE - Local postal carriers will be collecting non-perishable donations for the Green County Food Pantry on Saturday.
The National Association of Letter Carriers, in partnership with the United States Postal Service and the National Association of Rural Letter Carriers, sponsors the annual Stamp Out Hunger event. This is the largest, single-day food drive in the United States. The event collected 70 million pounds of food nationwide last year, for total of more than 1 billion pounds of food collected since the drive began 22 years ago.
To donate, place non-perishable food items in the bags provided by your mailbox Saturday. Letter carriers will collect the donations and deliver them to the food pantry.
